As of July 15th 2015, local WIC agencies will implement WIC Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT), also referred to as “eWIC”. WIC EBT is an electronic system that replaces paper food checks and vouchers with a card for food issuance and redemption at authorized WIC grocery stores. Foods provided through eWIC include:
- Fresh, canned, and frozen fruits and vegetables
- Whole wheat bread, pasta, and rice
- Peanut butter
- Cheese (some food packages)
- Bean, peas, lentils
Infants receive infant cereal and baby food at 6 months of age. Moms and infants that breastfeed receive additional foods including cheese for mom and baby meats for baby.
We also provide Farmers’ Market Checks for fresh fruits and vegetables during the summer months. Please contact us for more information.
