SECOND COVID-19 RELATED DEATH CONFIRMED IN FOREST COUNTY

Forest County Health officials have confirmed a second person has died of complications surrounding novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Forest County.

“We are deeply saddened to report this loss. We extend our sympathies to all of their loved ones.” said Jacee Shepard, Health Officer/Director of the Forest County Health Department.

To date, 28 people in Forest County and 18,203 people across the state of Wisconsin have been diagnosed with COVID-19. There has been a total of 2 deaths in Forest County and 588 deaths in Wisconsin.

The Forest County Health Department continues to encourage community members to minimize their contact with others by staying home when possible, practice physical distancing and good personal hygiene, and stay alert for symptoms of COVID-19.

The staff at the FCHD are working hard to protect the county and our community members. We will continue to focus on keeping everyone safe by responding to and following up with COVID-19 cases and contact tracing, along with keeping the community up-to-date on current information.
